The stars of women's cricket will take centre stage as they kick off the summer of sport in Birmingham.

Both the England women's team and Birmingham Phoenix are set to make returns in the coming months.

It will kick off with the first match of a joint Vitaly IT20 Series against Pakistan at Edgbaston on Saturday, May 11, when the team return after last summer's groundbreaking Ashes series.

England Women's captain, Heather Knight, along with Nat Sciver-Brunt, the number one ODI batter in the world, and Sophie Ecclestone, the top-ranked bowler, are some of the leaders of the talented line-up.

They’ll be joined by promising young talent, such as Sophia Dunkley, Alice Capsey, and Lauren Bell.

The team had a record-breaking crowd in 2023, and they are hoping to build momentum ahead of this year’s IT20 World Cup in Bangladesh.

Additionally, The Hundred's Phoenix will make their return to Edgbaston on Saturday, August 3 for a clash with the Southern Brave, with a series of more home games over the following couple of weeks.

The tournament, now in its fourth year, combines cricket, featuring many of the best players in the world, with live music performances through a partnership with BBC Music Introducing.

Amy Jones, England and Phoenix wicketkeeper and batter, said: "Birmingham is my home and I know how electric the Edgbaston crowd is.

"It’s going to be another incredible summer of cricket for both England Women and Birmingham Phoenix and I can’t wait to see packed out crowds cheering us on."

Ticket prices for England remain great value for fans with adult tickets starting from £10.
