Stourport men's 1st XI, continued their winning ways when they beat their hosts, Rugby & East Warwickshire 4-2 in the Midlands 1st Division.

Stourport began slowly, with Rugby taking the lead when a misplaced Andy Cavendish pass allowed the home side to counter and score the opening goal within the first two minutes.

Stourport soon pulled the scores level when Stefan Sekula took a mis-injected ball and fired low into the bottom corner.

Almost immediately Joe Schubert fed the ball to Joshua Appleby, who in turn passed it to Adam Leeke who sent a thunderbolt reverse stick shot across the keeper into the side netting.

From then on Stourport controlled the match with Appleby making it 3-1 after a slick passing move, before the half-time break.

Rugby came out in the second half playing some good hockey in the opening minutes, but the visitors weathered the storm, despite the home side pulling the scores back to 3-2 with ten minutes left to go.

Stourport's defence had to work hard with Cavendish, and Mark Fisher, being marshalled well by Alex Cook in goal, to deny Rugby further goals from set pieces. As the minutes ticked away Simon Claris scored his twenty-first goal of the season, with a trademark shot, corner low into the backboard to seal a 4-2 Stourport victory.

Stourport men’s 3rd team travelled away to play high-flying top of the table Kingswinford 1st in their South West Division 6 match.

Despite losing 0-8 against a side that had been promoted several divisions at the start of the season, having averaged over 15 goals per game the previous year, Stourport produced a credible performance for most of the game, restricting the opposition until the final 10 minutes when the opposition eventually managed to get their penalty corner routine working more effectively.

Ladies 1XI remain top of the Conference North league following a convincing 4-0 win against their visitors Brooklands Poynton.

Stourport controlled without threatening to score in a quiet second half, the highlight of which was a fantastic goal line save by Laura Price to prevent the visitors from getting on the score sheet.

Stourport ladies 2nds were 3-1 victors, when they entertained Leek 1sts, in the Midland Premier Division. Despite beginning the match well,. creating a number of good chances and having the majority of possession in the first half, the ladies' 2nd XI, were still level at the break with visitors Leek 1st XI managing to keep the scores at 0-0.

Stourport who retained the majority of possession in the second half were awarded a corner which was deflected into the goal by Holly Smith, after a strike by Stourport's player of the match Rachel Howells.

A few minutes later, the same player combination again from a short corner converted a second to make it 2-0. Within minutes Stourport found themselves 3-0 ahead when Howells scored from a strike from the top of the 'D'. Stourport still created chances but it was Leek who scored next to pull the scores back to 3-1.

Stourport Ladies' 4th XI took to the turf at the Kingsway where they entertained Kings Heath 2nd XI securing an 8-0 victory in the Women's Brecon 5 division. Stourport, fielding a team of a blend of new and more experienced players, had possession from the first push back and began to threaten the visitor's goal.
