SAMURAI Judo Club finished with an impressive record at the Leicester Open last weekend after winning three medals.
Sophie Deeming-Lane led the charge by clinching a gold medal by winning all of her contests by maximum points.
The semi-final was where she encountered the most difficulty, but she neatly turned the girl over on the ground and held her.
Lauren Fletcher reached the final of her category, one weight group below Deeming-Lane’s, but met a strong Spanish girl in the final and had to settle for silver.
Meanwhile, Lucas Kent was in the over-65 kilograms category and battled well to earn bronze.
