ARCHERY: With the summer season drawing to a close, several junior members of Wyre Forest Company of Archers have had a busy end to their season.

Heike Palmer took the West Midlands and Worcestershire regional titles for her age group in a Girls Recurve Bristol Five with a score of 1136 points including 81 golds.

Older sister Freya Palmer was third in a Girls Recurve Bristol Four with 1,051 points and 54 golds, while Jasmine Simpson came fourth in the same catego - ry with 844 points and 24 golds.

At the Junior Inter-County Challenge, Stourport High School’s Lauren Turner was the club’s top scorer in a Junior Metric Five with 1,229 points followed by Heike with a Metric Four score of 1,210 and Freya with a Metric Five score of 1,198.

These scores helped Worcestershire into second behind Staffordshire, but well ahead of Warwickshire.

At the Chippenham Junior Metrics tournament, the posi - tions were reversed with Freya setting a personal best of 1,238 which included 41 golds in winning the Ladies Recurve Metric Four while Turner was third with 1,210 points and 37 golds. Heike won her Metric Five category with 1,197 including 33 golds.
