CYCLING: Wyre Forest youth rider Jamie Crump made a solid start to the season at the Woolly Mamil Winter Series.

While the majority of riders are still fine tuning their fitness levels with reliability rides, a few of the younger members of the club have already started their racing season by competing in the series of circuit races – promoted by Mamil Cycling at the Stourport Sports Club.

Crump was the club’s best-placed rider with fourth and third place finishes in the U14s age category.

At the same meeting, William Pedersen placed 11th in his first race of the season in the U16s category, while World Triathlon Champion Jacqui Phillips, attempting to get her road race licence, finished just behind a group of second category sponsored riders.

Wyre Forest CRC will be promoting a reliability trial on Sunday, February 15 from Stourport Sports Club, with the first riders away at 10m.
