STOURPORT Swifts boss Rod Brown has brought in former Walsall and Kidderminster Harriers midfield man David McDermott on loan from Worcester City.

Brown believes McDermott's arrival could help Swifts climb the Midland League table and admitted: "We're not scoring enough goals at the moment.

"Defensively we're very strong and we've got one of the best goals against record in the league.

"In Jamie Hyde, Michael Briscoe, Kevin Spencer and Jamie Willetts, I've lots of experience "But we're not firing in front of goal as we should be.

"Both Lewis Pountney and John Griffin are two of the best strikers at this level and you'd expect them to be 25 goal a season players - but we've been very inconsistent in that area.

"Of course, as a manager, you're always looking to try and bring in better players, but I'm very loyal to these lads and they've been loyal to me".

Swifts produced a 0-0 draw at Coventry Sphinx last Saturday in a game that summed up Swifts' season so far.

Brown insisted: "We were never in danger and never looked threatened. But we only had two real chances throughout the game and didn't take them".

Swifts entertain Tipton Town this Saturday at Walshes Meadow and then travel to AFC Wulfrunians on Tuesday in the League Cup.
