BEWDLEY Town boss Phil Mullen had no complaints after collecting points at Willenhall Town and Wednesfield this week in the West Midlands League.

James Baldwin bagged a top quality hat-trick as Bewdley claimed a 3-3 draw at Willenhall, while Tom Bishop, Dan Flowers and Jason Wellings were on target at Wednesfield.

But the trip to Wednesfield proved much more eventful after finishing 3-3 as well.

The match took until 5-50pm to be completed after being interupted by both injury and floodlight failure.

The first stoppage arrived just before half time when a Wednesfield player suffered a dislocated shoulder.

After an hour's delay, the game continued but was then blighted by a problem to one of the central lights.

Manager Mullen revealed: "The ref wasn't keen to continue but left it in the hands of both managers.

"Wednesfield were winning 1-0 at the time, so they wanted to keep playing and so did I.

"Then we went 2-0 down with 15 minutes to go. We were struggling to get going at all, but then went and scored three times in 10 minutes, only to go and concede a last minute penalty!

"Willenhall are a much better side than their league position suggests and we had a really good game with them. Obviously you are always disappointed when you think you've had a chance of winning, but I thought a point from both games was justified".

Bewdley entertain high flying Ellesmere Rangers this Saturday at Ribbesford Meadow and then play hosts to Pegasus Juniors next Tuesday in the West Midlands League Cup.
