BEWDLEY Town boss Phil Mullen can't wait for this Saturday's trip to Dudley Sports.

Mullen will have a surplus of players to select from for the first time this season.

He admitted: "We've been making up the numbers all season. We keep swopping and changing and that makes it difficult to get into any settled rhythm.

"But now, we've got players coming back from suspension and injury to the point where I might have a few selection headaches!

"We are selecting from a bit of strength".

Bewdley drew praise from their opponents this week despite being beaten 4-2 by high flying Gornal Athletic. It was a match that frustrated Mullen who has seen his side slip to fourth from bottom in the West Midlands Premier Division as a result.

Losing 3-0 at half time, Bewdley clawed the score back to 3-2 within eight minutes of second half exchanges through goals from Simon Rudd and Russ Godfrey. The outcome was finally settled by a late penalty for Gornal and Mullen maintained:

"We played really well for the first 20 to 25 minutes and then fell apart for a while. We sorted a few things out at half time and got back into the game.

"We look a decent side at times, but some of the players are lacking in confidence.

"As soon as the opposition score, we seem to go into quiet mode and lose it for a while. I think it just comes down to inexperience.

"It was the same last week against Shawbury United when we went 2-0 down. We got back into the game but just lost out again 4-3.

"We don't seem to have a problem scoring goals, but we're letting in goals at the same time and I need to start locking things up at the back.

"We've been competing in every game and we're not that far away from being a half decent side.

"We've been playing two games a week ever since the season started and this is the first time we've had a break. I'm really looking forward to Saturday's game with Dudley Sports, if only for the fact I can select the same side two weeks running".

Bewdley striker Sam Woodhouse is set to seek specialist advice after being sidelined for five weeks with a recurring knee problem.
