KIDDERMINSTER under 16’s beat Bredon 54-12 to win the North Midlands Plate.
In perfect conditions for the fast running rugby they had eased to the final with wins over Evesham (43-5) and Moseley (33-10).
Scrum half Jason Lapworth, dummied a pass out from a ruck that wrong-footed the whole of the Bredon team and ran in a try unopposed. Sam Faulkner added the conversion. Kidderminster were seven points up with only two minutes played. Any hopes of an easy game were quickly put aside as Bredon equalised through good forward play creating the overlap for their fast running backs. It was not long before Kidderminster regained the lead with some good handling with full back Sam Faulkner going over for the points.
Kidderminster started the second half as the first finished, in dominance and scored early on but Bredon drove over for a try and clawed back five points.
However they were now spent and the remainder of the game was one way traffic, with Kidderminster adding three more tries with some stunning free flowing play.
