Wyre Forest Phoenix 1 v 0 Droitwich Spa
Wyre Forest Phoenix 3 v 0 Droitwich Spa

The Under 10's were at home this week in a double header against Droitwich Spa, to collect 6 valuable points.
In the first match Phoenix attacked from the start and it wasn't long before Ellie Symons put one in the back of the net.  Despite the continued pressure, with many shots at goal the final score of the first match was 1 - 0. Goals : Ellie Symons (1)
The second match was very similar with Phoenix constantly winning the ball from Droitwich and firing shots at goal.  Ellie Symons again scored the first goal which was closely followed by Holly Tew scoring the second.  Good team work then enabled Megan Hancher to get Phoenix's third giving a 3 - 0 final score. Goals : Ellie Symons (1), Holly Tew (1), Megan Hancher (1).

Warndon Village Wildcats 5 v 1 Wyre Forest Phoenix

The Under 12's  were very sleepy from the start and gifted Warndon their first goal after the opponent was able to walked through the whole team without a tackle being made. Despite standing firm their opponents experienced unfortunately shone through and they added another two before half time making it 3-0 at the break. Phoenix went out with a fighting spirit and when a training ground corner reached Jazmin Cartwright just outside the box her ferocious shot rattled the crossbar but Chloe Reading was most alert to volley the rebound home. Warndon were rattled and Phoenix looked like they could snatch something however a terrible decision by the stand in referee saw Jazmin penalised by a ball that bounced up on to her fingertips, in a classic ball to hand situation ended the fight back. The final goal conceded made the scoreline 5-1 to finish. This score line flattered Warndon and was not a true reflection on the game at all. Goal : Chloe Reading (1)

Wyre Forest Phoenix 7 v 3 Starland St Anne's

The Under 14 Today played their first home game of 2014. Starlands managed to get a team together to play us with after injuries and illness. With them only having 7 players the team talk before that game was to get the ball down and pass it around, but I guess they didn't listen as they tried to take players on and score wonder goals.
The game started well and Starland limited our chances, with some fine goalkeeping keeping it at 0-0. It took 15 mins for the breakthrough goal from Ella stokes to take the lead. Then on 18mins a goal mouth scrabble from a corner was tapped in by Katie Griffith's 2-0. Soon after Caelen Gower ran down the wing and smashed home a rocket shot into the roof of the goal 3-0. Then 33 mins gone and Annabelle lynch scored the game's 4th goal. On 34 mins we must have been asleep as their player of the game ran through and scored to reach half time 4-1.
The second half kicked off and we thought that they might be getting a bit tired by now, but that goal just before half time must of game them a lift. After 5 mins a goal from the edge of the area from Millie Jay might of deflated them but it didn't, they attacked and it would of been 2 but a fine save from keeper Kate Collingridge.
Starland's had more confidence and desire and got their second of the game on 10 mins. Soon after a long ball over the top from Grace Smith was chased by Carys Jones who slotted passed the keeper. Starland's scored another before Georgia Akers scored to make the final score 7-3. Goals : Ella stokes (1), Katie Griffiths (1), Caelen Gower (1), Annabelle Lynch (1), Millie Jay (1), Carys Jones (1), Georgia Akers (1). Player of the game was Annabelle Lynch

West Midlands Regional Women's League
Kenilworth Ladies 0 (0) v Wyre Forest Phoenix 5 (1)

WFP Ladies travelled to Kenilworth with only 11 players due to Mother’s Day commitments. The home team were keen to score early and had it not been for two fantastic fingertip saves from keeper Tracy Evans in the opening 20 minutes, then it could have been a different game. WFP started to put the pressure on and were very creative with chances falling to Chelsea Mudge, Kirsty Jones and Kirsty Roberts, bringing some fines saves from the home keeper. The pressure finally paid off on 35 minutes when Kirsty Jones lobbed the keeper from 20yds into the top left corner.
The second half was all WFP who dominated play. Kirsty Roberts was inspirational in creating the second goal when she tricked her defender and ran down the right wing crossing a ball into the 6yd box for Jones to tap in. Player of the match, Chelsea Mudge was next on the score sheet making sure from close range after Vicky Hyde’s attempt hit the upright. She got her second goal a bit later when a cross field ball from Vicky to the left was met by Chelsea who rounded her defender and shot high, with the keeper pushing it into her own net. Chelsea scored again, but was denied her hat trick due to being ruled offside. From a team perspective, great respect and thanks went to Mel Zaffino, who soldiered on to play 90 minutes for the first time this season,  and she got a well-deserved goal 10 minutes from the end after latching on to a Kirsty Jones corner. A brilliant performance by the team who have won 4 of their last 5 games and are looking to push their way further up the league as the season ends. Well played Ladies.
