WE NEED to have three by-elections in Wyre Forest.

The first one is caused by the Conservatives allowing their candidate Paul Simpson to go forward for election to Kidderminster Town Council.

The Conservatives should have made sure he was eligible to stand!

He is unable to take up the seat because his job at the Department of Work and Pensions precludes it!

So the Conservatives will now cost the public thousands of pounds to conduct the election.

But an election we must have, not an underhand co-option with another Conservative taking Mr Simpson’s place.

The other two vacancies have not been declared, but they must be.

John Campion, the newly elected Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) must resign his seats on Wyre Forest District Council and Worcestershire County Council.

There is no way he can give proper time to all three positions he holds.

Incidentally, I’m not one of those people who says the PCC is not a political post. Of course it is.
