A MEET-the-artist day will be held at the Bewdley Festival Art Exhibition, this weekend.

Iranian artist, Mohsen Keiany, will answer questions about his work, in the exhibition gallery, at the Bewdley Museum, on Saturday, October 9, from 11am until 4pm.

This year, Keiany has shown paintings at the Birmingham Art Gallery and in Islamabad and Karachi.

A planned exhibition in Lahore was not possible, due to all the work being sold at the earlier venues.

Bewdley Festival organiser, Carole Swingler said: “We are proud and excited to be exhibiting the work of such an internationally distinguished artist.”

Mohsen's paintings take inspiration from Persian culture, mythology, music and dance and he lists his influences as Iranian landscape and archaeology, Islam and Sufi mysticism.

His style, technique and materials blend approaches from the East and West and music, movement and spirituality feature in many of his pictures.

The exhibition called Jam-e-Tajalli, The Cup of Manifestation will run until Sunday, November 21.
