THE final week of Kidderminster Arts Festival 2010 saw the Comberton Hill subway transformed by the Subway Deluxe event.

The passages leading into the town buzzed with excitement as artists from as far away as Liverpool set to work changing the previously dirty walls into an opulent art gallery.

Drum Love and the Severn Valley Samba band brought their beats to the event and a great day was had by all.

Pedestrians commented on how much nicer it was to walk through the subway.

The Graffiti Wall appeared under its own marquee which made a perfect shelter from the rain.

Young people picked up the simple controls very quickly and produced a huge range of designs.

It may have been raining in Kidderminster but Larkin About Grannies brought smiles to hundreds of faces on the final festival Thursday.

They cruised through the market and shopping centres on their larger-than-life shopping trolleys, bringing music and laughter to everyone they met. Skate Naked managed to squeeze in one show as rain prevented them running to schedule. Those who did manage to catch them left the show with big smiles on their faces!

FilmAddict3 attracted filmmaker contributions from far and wide and presented their offerings to a full house at Kidderminster Library Gallery.

Corina Harper, one of the audience members, commented on the good quality of the work presented and wants to continue to create more ambitious FilmAddict events. Look out on Facebook for future events. A festival spokesman aid: “We were grateful to a dedicated group of buskers who battled through the rain to entertain shoppers throughout the fortnight and also F team would like to say a big thank-you to Sam and Sax, who kindly donated his last-day takings to The Forest Dog Rescue Society.
