I am delighted that Royal Mail and the trade unions have agreed a deal which settles the long running dispute over pay and working practices. Staff will receive a 6.9% pay increase over 3 years and full-time workers will receive extra payments up to £1,400 after changes are made. Unions have agreed to the use of new machinery and working systems (I have taken this information from various sources).
I now call on Royal Mail Management to end the uncertainty concerning the future of Stourport Postal Depot and make a public statement to keeping it open. This decision would be well received by the people of Stourport and Wyre Forest, local businesses and trade unions.
