People across Worcestershire have been receiving surprise Easter eggs this week.

The Specsavers Home Visits Team covering the region has been delivering Easter eggs to isolated and vulnerable customers since Monday (March 25), with a total of 50 eggs expected to be delivered by Saturday (March 30).

Christopher Smith, director of the team, said: "We meet amazing people every day when we’re out and about, whether that’s in people’s own homes or residential settings, and providing the best care for them is our priority.

"With that in mind, we know that some of our customers can feel lonely and isolated due to their circumstances."

He added: "We look forward to seeing our customers, so we’re especially excited to hand out Easter eggs this week.

"We’re hoping to put a smile on the faces of our customer and share the love (and chocolate) in our local communities."

The team offers a free, NHS-funded service to those unable to attend their optician’s appointments unaccompanied by carrying out full eye examinations within the comfort of the customer's home.

The team uses specialised equipment adapted for home use to assess the vision and overall eye health of customers.
