A NEW bakery is set to open in Stourport this week.
Ashley's at 19, High Street, will open on Wednesday (March 20) serving fresh bread, sourdough and cakes, amongst other items.
Owner Ashley Pugh already runs bakeries in Cleobury Mortimer and Bewdley and has decided to expand into Stourport.
He has spent the last month with his partner Joanna and her brother fitting out the former vape shop unit ready for the grand opening.
Ashley, aged 56, said: "It's an area that has been asking for a bakery for a long time, people have been saying for years and years we should open there.
"I was just waiting for the right time and everything fell into place nicely.
"The reaction so far has been fantastic.
"We can't wait to open."
Ashley, who has been in the trade for 36 years, is looking for staff and hopes to create four roles, depending on demand for the shop's freshly baked items after it opens.
The bakery will initially be open from Wednesday to Saturday from 9am till around 2/30pm/ 3pm.
