A DOORBELL video has captured the moment a car exploded in Worcester.

An eyewitness found the footage after being awoken late at night by an explosion on an estate in Worcester.

The video shows a bright explosion behind a house in Buckle Wood, Worcester, in the early hours of the morning.

Firefighters said they were called to a car fire on the road just after 1am on Sunday.

The onlooker said they were woken up by the sound of a large bang, which was then followed by a second one not long afterwards.

The eyewitness said they saw an "orange glow" appear from their window and called the fire brigade to report the incident.

"I called the fire brigade at 1.29am last night after I heard a loud bang," they said.

"Then there was another 20 minutes later on the street opposite.

"The fire brigade came straight away, they were brilliant. I guess the bang was what woke me up, but I did hear a loud bang about 20 or so minutes before that and didn't see anything.

"When the second loud bang came I could see an orange glow out of my bedroom window so I went to check it out."

Footage from a doorbell captured by another resident shows the dramatic moment when the car caught fire.

A spokesperson from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We sent a fire appliance from Worcester to a car fire on Buckle Wood Road at 1.19am.

"A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew had two breathing apparatus and used one hose reel jet to tackle the fire."
