TWO people were hurt following a crash on the A450 Worcester Road this morning (Friday, February 23).

The incident happened near the Deansford Lane and the Woodrow Lane junction near Kidderminster, with the ambulance service called out around 9.50am.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered two cars had been involved in a collision.

"The female driver and male passenger from the first car were both treated for injuries not believed to be serious but neither wished to go to hospital and so were given self-care advice and discharged at the scene.

Heavy traffic was reported following the collision, with social media user Soph Howard-Gall saying she got "stuck" in the traffic, which was brought to a standstill.

The A450 is part of the diversion route being used by drivers whilst the A448 in Chaddesley Corbett is closed for Severn Trent works. The major road between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove is closed for three months.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a call this morning around 10am with a report of a collision on the A450, near Deansford Lane and the Woodrow Lane Junction.
