POLICE have provided an update after a collision involving a girl and a lorry last week.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said on Friday (January 26) that a girl was taken to hospital after suffering "potentially serious injuries" in the incident on Birmingham Road in Kidderminster.

In an update, West Mercia Police said the pedestrian suffered "no injuries other than abrasions."

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident outside the Land Oak pub near the town centre at the junction of Chester Road North and Birmingham Road in the morning.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision involving a lorry and pedestrian on Birmingham Road at 8.21am, two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a BASICS doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered the pedestrian, a girl, had suffered potentially serious injuries in the incident.

"Following treatment from ambulance staff at the scene she was then transported to Birmingham Children’s Hospital by land ambulance".

Birmingham Road was closed whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
