AN iconic Kidderminster pub has reopened with a fresh new look after a £130,000 investment.

The Watermill pub has been revamped with new wallpaper, seating, stylish lighting and an updated bar area.

The pub closed last month for the revamp and officially reopened on Monday (August 7).

Shaun Marshall, a local ex-Royal Marine turned postman, who is well-known for his charity work with Kemp Hospice and fundraising challenges such as Iron Man and Marathon Des Sables, was chosen as the pub’s community hero to pour the first pint in celebration of the pub’s reopening.

The pub which recently welcomed a new general manager, was the last working forge in Kidderminster up until 1979.
