Simply Limitless is delighted to announce it has received funding from the National Lottery for £160000 to continue providing its Optimistic Living project.

Optimistic Living provides guided one to one support to help people manage their mental health and wellbeing. Over 12 weeks the optimistic living project helps you to look at where you are, what areas of your life are impacting your mental health and then gives you help and support to improve some key areas – the programme looks at areas such as exercise, connecting with people, building relationships and with the help of an experienced mental health case worker plan to improve these areas.

Since 2019 Simply Limitless has helped over 230 people improve their mental health and wellbeing and with this continued support from the National Lottery Community fund we will be able continue to support those in need. With so much pressure on people’s lives, the massive cost of living crisis and big challenges in the NHS the Optimistic Living project will help to relieve some of this pressure.

A recent case study shows how important the scheme is – “A man in his 60's(B) was referred to OL by his GP following a very difficult year in which his mother died and his wife of many years left him for someone else. His stable professional background turned into an uncertain future and he felt lost and suicidal. After attempting to take his own life B engaged well with OL, slowly sorting out practical issues including a change in accommodation, and beginning to have hope for the future. He was very appreciative of the input, and opportunity to talk. B no longer feels suicidal and viewed his move of house as a new start.”
