KIDDERMINSTER carpet manufacturer, Brintons, has done its bit for the Back on Track appeal, donating a cheque for £250.

Rosie Connolly, the company's commercial project manager, plays for the ladies at Stourport Hockey Club and approached Brintons' board of directors to see if they could help.

She said: "I know Brintons support the area and I have been a player at the hockey club for a long time so I asked if there was anything they could do.

"I was very pleased when they made the donation. Sport is very important to me and I thought it was the right thing to do for the local community."

Mrs Connolly, an employee at Brintons for 20 years, added: "I was proud of the company."

Sue Izzard, public relations and communications executive at Brintons, said the decision to make the donation had been a board decision and was not down to any individual.

She said: "Brintons are really happy to donate to this appeal after the tragedy of the arson attack at Stourport Sports Club."

She added: "Brintons are always happy to be involved with the local community."

Brintons holds the distinctive position as the world's largest producer of fine quality woven Axminster carpets and currently operates plant facilities in the UK, India and Portugal.
