If it is said that inside every one of us is a special talent, but the trick is finding it, then Kidderminster College dance student, Matt Lucas, has proven that he had no difficulty in identifying his.

18 year old Matt, who is predicted to achieve three distinctions, is celebrating after having been offered a place at one of the country's top dance schools - the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD), this summer.

Matt, who has been a keen dancer since a child, says that visits to West Ends Shows, in particular Billy Elliot', have been major influences in his life. Now he has set his sights on becoming a West End star himself and is delighted with his offer from NSCD. He commented, "To succeed in professional, contemporary dance takes rigorous and challenging training and the NSCD will be the best training ground for me!"

Equally delighted are Matt's dance tutors. "There's no better place for Matt to gain the versatility and breadth of experience required by professional dance companies today than the NSCD.he will excel, " said Liz Winter, whilst fellow tutor Anna Lines added, "What's particularly exciting about the NSCD is that Matt will have the opportunity to participate in a range of cross-arts projects involving collaborations with composers, filmmakers and visual artists. It's a fantastic opportunity for him!"

Kidderminster College is renowned for its dance training and is in the process of offering students the opportunity to study for a BA (Hons) in Dance in collaboration with the University of Worcester. Currently students can study for the BTEC National Diploma in Dance which involves visiting professional choreographers and regular opportunities for students to create and perform their own work.
