TICKET prices for passengers travelling with Diamond Bus in Kidderminster are set to increase.

An adult single journey ticket is set to increase from £2.60 to £2.80 from September 12.

An adult day ticket is set to rise by 35p to £4.50 while a child day ticket is set to increase by 25p to £3.

Diamond Bus say the increase is a” necessary change” to continue providing services in the area.

A spokesperson for Diamond Bus said: “2022 has been an extremely challenging period for Diamond Bus with increased operating costs and passenger numbers continuing to fall below pre-pandemic levels.

“Whilst we understand that during these difficult times, a fares increase is not welcome news; these increases are unfortunately a necessary change to continue providing the area with a viable network of key services.

“Some local Redditch and Kidderminster fares will increase, however, Diamond Network tickets for cross-boundary travel across the Diamond network remain frozen.”
