THE finalists of the Worcestershire Health and Social Care Awards 2022 have been announced.
The awards are being staged by Newsquest – publishers of the Worcester News, Malvern Gazette, Evesham Journal, Bromsgrove & Droitwich and Redditch Advertisers and The Shuttle in conjunction with the University of Worcester.
Judging is now complete, and the two finalists of The Good Nurse category can be revealed.

The awards will culminate in a celebrity-backed virtual ceremony streamed on the Worcester News Facebook page on Thursday, October 13 at 7 pm when the winner of each category will be announced.
Diane Portfield Bourne, aged 52, has been described by one of her clients as a champion for women’s health and menopause.
With around 30 years of nursing experience and more than 15 years as a nurse practitioner, Diane runs Bourne2Care which offers one-to-one online consultations with women suffering from menopausal symptoms.
She offers advice to women about how to deal with menopause and can prescribe all types of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
Aside, from her business, Diane who lives in Stourport has also delivered a menopause programme for the NHS and is a ‘menopausal expert’ for Holland and Barrett.
After hearing that she had been chosen as a finalist, Diane said: “As nurses, we are not used to being appreciated so for someone to say we have done a really good job is such a nice feeling.
“Even working as privately in a different role to a ‘normal’ nurse, it is nice to be recognised.”
Faye McCann said she feels honoured to be shortlisted as a finalist for The Good Nurse Award.
The 37-year-old has worked as a district nurse for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust since 2016.
Faye previously worked as a practice nurse and as a coronary care nurse at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The mum of two from Kidderminster has been described by a former colleague as ‘the bubbliest, kindest and most genuine nurse’ he has met.
She has been praised for her compassion, understanding and outstanding care for families she works with.
Faye said she was overwhelmed to hear she was a finalist.
“I feel so privileged as everyone has worked so hard during the pandemic and I just did my best,” said Faye.
“I love my job – it’s part of me.
“We get rewarded by the patient’s reception to us and they are so grateful.
“It’s about making a difference."
