PUPILS and staff from a Wolverley school were visited by their counterparts from across the continent as part of a project.

Heathfield School hosted children and teachers from schools from Spain, Greece, Turkey and France as part of an Erasmus project, run through the European Commission and the British Council.

The three year project, organised by project lead teacher Emma White, is based on the theme ‘Home Sweet Home’ and allows youngsters and staff from all the schools to explore and develop teaching and learning opportunities as well as visiting each other.

An assembly was held to welcome the schools to Heathfield on April 22 during which a presentation was made by each school.

Wyre Forest parliamentary candidate Mark Garnier was also invited and talked about the Houses of Parliament to the students.

Headmaster, Mr Roger Brierly said: “The project had already given students the opportunity to use presentation skills in a foreign language as well as film-making and IT skills and it represented a wonderful example of European citizenship for all the pupils involved.”
