KIDDERMINSTER Harriers Independent Supporters Trust is looking for sponsors to support them in a walk to raise money for a charity which supports parents who lose a baby.

The KHIST organised walk on Good Friday is in memory of organiser Dave Pountney and his wife, Beckie’s daughter Charlotte May, who was born sleeping in June last year.

The couple have been helped through their loss by the support of a local charity, Towards Tomorrow Together, which supports parents who lose a baby through pregnancy, birth or as an infant.

The charity event will take place on Friday, April 3, when more than 50 walkers will make their journey in one day to AFC Telford, a distance of 35 miles, via the Severn pathway in support of the couple and to raise money for the charity.

The trust is looking for a sponsor of the walk t-shirt which they have designed. This would include sponsors name on the back or front.

Karl Davies, co-organiser, said: “We are looking for local businesses or charities to sponsor us, hopefully those with connections to the Kidderminster Harriers.

“We don’t want to put a figure of how much we want them to sponsor us. It will mean a lot more if it’s kept local.”

KHIST aims to raise £10,000 for Towards Tomorrow Together.

Last April nearly 50 supporters of Kidderminster Harriers walked the 65 miles in two days to Forest Green, near Stroud, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The walkers from KHIST did so in memory of former KHIST chairman Steve Millington and raised £38,000.

You can donate to the cause on www.justgiving.com/walktelford/. You can also donate by texting KHFC50 and the amount to 70070.
