KIDDERMINSTER Choral Society will be putting on an evening of arias and choruses at Kidderminster Town Hall.

Taking place on Saturday (November 29) at 7.30pm, the Opera Gala Evening features performances of tunes by some of the greatest opera composers.

Conducted by Geoffrey Weaver, the society’s musical director, the concert features soloists Linda Richardson, Harriet Williams, Paul Clarke and Quentin Hayes, accompanied by The Elgar Sinfonia.

Peter Knott, society publicity officer, said: “We can promise you an evening of musical drama and passion, certainly full of melody.

“Including works by the great Italian masters from Rossini through Verdi to Puccini, and by several other composers, as diverse as Bizet, Tchaikovsky and Gershwin.

“We are fortunate to have such a fine quartet of guest soloists, all with distinguished national and international careers.”
