VISITORS to West Midland Safari Park were treated to an extra special live performance from an African children’s choir.

The choir, known as the Pearl of Africa, is currently being hosted in homes across Kidderminster and they serenaded visitors at the safari park on Tuesday October 28 for almost an hour.

As part of their visit, the children were also invited to see the park’s collection of stunning African animals, which included free ranging white rhino, giraffe, zebra along with cheetah, lion and elephants, including the very latest baby – Sutton.

Wendy Jackson, the park’s public relations officer, said: “West Midland Safari Park have welcomed children from the Pearl of Africa Choir on a number of occasions in the past and each time it has been a real privilege.

“Their energy and real passion to sing is captivating and usually brings a tear to the eye.

“The children loved seeing the animals native to their homeland when they were driven through the four-mile safari. As ever, it was a real pleasure for us all to see and hear the choir again.”

The Pearl of Africa Child Care is a UK-based charity whose main activity is raising funds for seven schools and homes by the Molly and Paul Child Care Foundation – a Ugandan non-government organisation which provides education, food, shelter and healthcare to orphaned and destitute children in the Kampala and Masaka districts.
